PANHANDLE TRANSPORTATION FACILITY
AH&P provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for Clayton County Public Schools new Panhandle Transportation Facility which serves as one of two bus maintenance and storage facilities for the district. The building itself has nearly 9,000sq.ft of space which includes a two-bay bus maintenance shop, room for parts storage, and several offices for the transportation administration staff. The site has room to park a hundred buses and has a refueling station with a 10,000 gallon diesel tank. The new facility will allow the school system to improve their bus system efficiency and reduce mileage put on the buses, saving tax payers more than $250,0000 a year in diesel cost alone.
