PRINCIPALS

James (Al) A. Andrews, Jr., PE, LEED AP BD+C
aandrews@ahpengr.com | ext. 6361
Mr. Andrews has experience in the design and construction of mechanical and electrical systems. Much of this experience has been in the management of the design of mechanical and electrical systems for renovations and new construction at many colleges and universities. He has significant experience in the design and management of projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, and governmental clients. He also remains involved in projects from start through construction completion. As the project manager and principal in charge of mechanical and electrical system design, Al ensures that the design work is accurate, appropriate, affordable, and delivered on time. He is actively involved in design decisions, budgeting, cost estimating and construction administration.

Charles (Chuck) W. Hammock, Jr., PE, LEED AP BD+C CGD
chammock @ ahpengr.com |ext. 6362
Mr. Hammock has been extensively involved in the engineering of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for governmental, industrial, commercial and institutional clients at facilities throughout the United States and internationally. Systems designed and installed for these projects range from small DX split system heat pumps to the installation of large central chilled and hot water systems and steam plants. His specialty and passion in the HVAC systems arena is centered on innovative deployments of Geothermal Heat Pumps (GHPs) systems for governmental, institutional, and commercial clients.

R. Edward Powell, Jr.
epowell@ahpengr.com | ext. 6363
Mr. Powell has been involved in the design, construction and commissioning of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, educational, government and institutional projects. His design and experience includes projects for DoD, AFLAC, Flowers Bakery, City and County Government Organizations, GSFIC, Georgia Board of Regents, the Department of Veteran Affairs, as well as numerous detention and correction facilities. He has been the senior electrical engineer, project manager or electrical Principal-in-charge for all of the electrical projects completed by AH&P. Ed has extensive experience in field investigation, data acquisition, design, design analysis, commissioning and cost estimating. He understands the stringent requirements for delivering projects that are on time, within budget, and appropriate to meet the Owner’s needs.

Wesley M. Haynes, PE, LEED AP
whaynes@ahpengr.com | ext. 6364
Mr. Haynes is a registered professional engineer with extensive experience in the design of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for educational, commercial, institutional, health care, and governmental clients. For over 25 years he has demonstrated an exceptional understanding of HVAC systems and their relationship to the total building program. He has been involved in the study, design and/or commissioning of systems for almost any conceivable HVAC system and control scheme. He has performed load calculations; site surveys of existing conditions; performed life cycle cost analysis and energy studies; prepared accurate cost estimates; and completed detailed design analysis.

Naeem H. Osmani, PE, LEED AP BD+C
nosmani@ahpengr.com | ext. 6365
Having received a degree in physics prior to pursuing his electrical and computer engineering degree has given Mr. Osmani an excellent working knowledge of electrical systems. His extensive background of digital & electronic engineering theory has allowed him to quickly apply his knowledge to practical engineering projects. Mr. Osmani has designed and commissioned electrical systems for numerous K-12 educational facilities, colleges and universities, institutional, detention and correctional facilities as well commercial, industrial and governmental projects during his employment with Andrews, Hammock & Powell. He has gained vast experience in the design and commissioning of various types of power and low voltage systems including fire alarm, computer networks, communications, lighting controls, security, digital and IP video surveillance, access control, multimedia AV, and television distribution.

James A. (Jake) Andrews, IIIPE
JAndrews@ahpengr.com | ext. 6372
Jake is a registered professional engineer that has been working in the consulting engineering industry with AH&P since 1996, beginning work as a runner in high school and as an intern during college.  He began full time as an HVAC design engineer in 2003 after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jake has designed many types of HVAC systems including water source heat pump systems, chiller/boiler central plants, packaged air conditioning systems, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, outside air systems with energy recovery, etc.  He has applied these various system types to Colleges and Universities, K-12 schools, Municipal Buildings, Student Housing, Hospital/Medical Facilities and various other commercial building types.  Jake has demonstrated the ability to produce quality design documents utilizing BIM modeling and 2-dimensional software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Microstation that are coordinated with Architectural, Structural, Civil and other trades.  He is involved in project cost estimates, budgets and fee proposals as well as client relationship expansion, business development, and marketing
